Baxendale asked, with quiet earnestness.
'Sure, quite sure.' 'In any other case I don't know whether I should have done as you wish.' 'You would have tried to prevent it?
Oh no, you are too wise! After all this time, and he loves her as much as ever.

Don't you see how foolish it would be to fret about it?
