I was full of pity for the poor little creature, and I only left him to return.

I started away, and not until I had been at full gallop for an hour did I sight the runaway horses.

Cocky got away when the accident occurred, and galloped after and found the others, and his advent evidently set them off a second time.

Returning to the boy, I saw some smoke, and on approaching close, found a young black fellow also there.

He had bound up the child's arm with leaves, and wrapped it up with bits of bark; and when I came he damped it with water from my bag.
