A frigate of their's was likewise looking at us.

At noon the enemy's fleet south-west to west-south-west, on the larboard tack under an easy sail in line ahead, and distant 3 or 4 leagues.

Our fleet 3 or 4 leagues to leeward in the order of sailing or under a press of sail.

Ushant north 82 degrees east 143 leagues.
