4/11 At noon we had a strong gale with a high sea on, our Latitude 33 degrees 55 minutes south. Strong gale with heavy squalls at intervals with a very high sea running. Very heavy squall attended with thunder and lightning, large hail stones at ye same time. At 10 A.M.Mustered ye Ship's Company and read the articles of war being the first Sunday of ye month. Fresh breezes and heavy squalls with flying showers of rain and heavy sea running. |
