With the same view, he directed that all female visitors should be excluded from the ships.

Another necessary precaution, taken by the captain, was a strict injunction, that no person known to be capable of propagating disorder should be sent upon duty out of the vessels.

Thus zealous was the humanity of our commander, to prevent an irreparable injury from being done to the natives.
