He is a most kind and considerate gentleman, and I will not allow you to repeat these things you hear from the low companions whom your father permitted you to associate with." "Bill is not a low companion, mother," Ned exclaimed passionately.

"A better fellow never stood, and Foxey is not kind and considerate.

He is a brutal tyrant, and I am sure my father, if you will quote his opinion, would not have had such a man inside his doors." "Leave the room, Ned, this moment," his mother exclaimed, more angry than he had ever seen her before.

"I am ashamed of you speaking to me in that way.
