Followed along south side of Mann Ranges over country pretty well grassed for about sixteen miles, and reached Mr.Gosse's bivouac of October 12th.
Found a little water in a sandy hole, and a small spring about half a mile higher up the gully.

We had to carry the water from the spring in drums, which was slow and hard work.
