Windich and Pierre shot three emus; a great many came to water.

Being nearly out of meat, we are glad to get them.
6th (Sunday).
Took bearings from a hill about a mile east of camp, from which there was a very extensive view.

Far as the eye could reach to south, level plains extended, with low hills rising abruptly out of them here and there; to the west the Deering Hills and Mann Ranges; while to the east the high Musgrave Ranges soon stopped the view.

The whole country is level, the ranges rising abruptly out of the plains, and is not like the hilly country in the settled districts of Western Australia.

Marked a tree close to the camp F 85, being 85th camp from Geraldton.
