Everything had gone on well during my absence.
26th.
Did not travel to-day, as there was good feed and water at this camp.

My brother, Windich, and Pierre rode over to Lake Augusta to get some shooting, and returned in the afternoon with a swan and two ducks.

On their way out they saw a native and gave him chase.

He climbed up a small tree, and, although Windich expended all his knowledge of the languages of Australia to get him to talk, he would not open his lips, but remained silent; they therefore left him to get down from the tree at his leisure.
Re-stuffed some of the pack-saddles.
