This was not the first time that he had been exploring, as he accompanied his brother to this colony four years ago, and in 1871 the Government sent him out in command of a party to find new land, when he went out about 600 miles.

He thanked them for the very kind way in which they had spoken of his companions.

Since they came to this colony they had been fed and clothed, and no one would take any money.

(Cheers.) In the city he expected something great, but in the Burra, Gawler, and other places where they did not expect it, they had met with a hearty reception.

He saw a great improvement in Adelaide.
