But as I wasn't there, of course he wouldn't stay, and so there she is now by herself.

She thinks I must come home after a while, and the minute I do that, back he'll come, and then they'll have just what they wanted.

But I reckon she'll find that I can stick it out just as long as she can.

If Roberta March turns things upside down there, it'll be because she can't keep her hands out of mischief, and that proves that she belongs to her own family.

If there's any harm done, it don't matter so much to me, and it will be worse for him in the end.
