Such assurance rather disconcerted the captain.

They shook hands and she asked him calmly what he was doing there looking at the waves, and if the repairs of his boat were progressing satisfactorily.
"But admit that my presence has surprised you!" said Ulysses, rather irritated by this tranquillity.

"Confess that you were not expecting to find me here." Freya repeated her smiles with an expression of sweet compassion.
"It is natural that I should find you here.

You are in your district, within sight of a hotel....

We are neighbors." In order more thoroughly to amuse herself with the captain's astonishment, she made a long pause.
