He gave himself up once more to our company.

His vivacity had indeed been damped; but even in this respect he was a more acceptable companion than formerly, since his seriousness was neither incommunicative nor sullen.
These incidents, for a time, occupied all our thoughts.

In me they produced a sentiment not unallied to pleasure, and more speedily than in the case of my friends were intermixed with other topics.

My brother was particularly affected by them.

It was easy to perceive that most of his meditations were tinctured from this source.
