Stampede Smith slipped away from him, and Rossland took his place.

And Keok, laughing, changed into Mary Standish with tantalizing deviltry.

It was like Keok, Alan thought drowsily--she was always tormenting someone.
He felt better in the morning.

The sun was up, flooding the wall of his cabin, when he awoke, and under him he could feel the roll of the open sea.
