This animal is common in the neighbourhood of Port Jackson, and dogs, to all appearance of the same species, are found on all parts of the coast.
Captain King presented a living specimen to Sir Everard Home, Bart., who sent it to Exeter Change.
In considering this species as distinct from the common dog, I am supported by the opinion of Mr.William MacLeay*.
