Opossum Mouse, Colonists at Port Jackson.
This little animal, the smallest and most beautiful of the opossum tribe, is exceedingly numerous in the vicinity of Port Jackson.

It was first described by Dr.Shaw in his Zoology of New Holland.

There are several specimens in the Linnean Society's collection.

The above is placed in the British Museum.
