A pool was found, but the water was thick and muddy, and the negro discovered near it the remains of fire and fragments of provisions, which showed that it had been lately visited, either by travellers or banditti.

The attendants, apprehending the latter, and supposing that the robbers lurked at no great distance, Mr.Park proceeded to another watering place.
