"Mr.Reade," remarked Mr.Newnham, in a quiet undertone, "does it occur to you that you are making no preparations to defend the camp! That, in fact, you seem wholly indolent in the matter ?" "Oh, no; I'm not indolent, sir," smiled Tom.
