At times Garratt Skinner rubbed Hine's limbs and stamped about the ledge to keep some warmth within himself.

Walter Hine grew weaker and weaker.

At times he was delirious; at times he came to his senses.
"You leave me," he whispered once.

"You have been a good friend to me.
You can do no more.

Just leave me here, and save yourself." Garratt Skinner made no answer.
