I found, on inquiry, that the reason of this demonstration was that she had lately given a lecture which had been much appreciated by the students.
I have no space to give an account of the proceedings, though I hope to do so on some future occasion, and can only say that a more interesting and picturesque assemblage it would be difficult to imagine. On the day following, October 15th, the Assembly was formally opened at twelve, when the Dewan presided at a table on the raised platform.
