One after another the kurens turned out: Oumansky, Popovichesky, Kanevsky, Steblikovsky, Nezamaikovsky, Gurgazif, Titarevsky, Tomischevsky.

The Pereyaslavsky kuren alone was wanting.

Its Cossacks had smoked and drank to their destruction.

Some awoke to find themselves bound in the enemy's hands; others never woke at all but passed in their sleep into the damp earth; and the hetman Khlib himself, minus his trousers and accoutrements, found himself in the camp of the Lyakhs.
The uproar among the Zaporozhtzi was heard in the city.

All the besieged hastened to the ramparts, and a lively scene was presented to the Cossacks.
