Though she had spoken quite sharply at the telephone, her voice was mellifluous when she attuned it to Gabriella.
"That gown is perfect on you," she remarked in honied accents.

"It was one of my best models last season, and as I said before, Madame, you are so fortunate as to wear your clothes with a grace." She was urbane, but she was anxious to be rid of her, this young Mrs.Fowler could see at a glance.

"Your head is well set on your shoulders, and that is rare--very rare! It would surprise you to know how few women have heads that are well set on their shoulders.
