Together with his confederate kings, he marched as far as Palestine, where he was opposed by the native princes, Bera, king of Sodom, Birsha, king of Gomorrah, Shinab, king of Admah, Shemeber, king of Zeboiim, and the king of Bela or Zoar.

A great battle was fought between the two confederated armies in the vale of Siddim towards the lower end of the Dead Sea.
