Still more tasteful are some of the examples which occur upon the bas-reliefs, and seemingly represent earthen vases.

Among these may be particularized a lustral ewer resting in a stand supported by bulls' feet, which appears in front of a temple at Khorsabad [PLATE LXXXI., Fig.

3], and a wine vase (see [PLATE LXXXI., Fig.

4]) of ample dimensions, which is found in a banquet scene at the same place.

Some of the lamps are also graceful enough, and seem to be the prototypes out of which were developed the more elaborate productions of the Greeks.
