So shy that the tears rose to her eyes as she stood there, embraced.

And, strangely, she felt, with all her disquiet at being so held by Althea, that the tears were not only for shyness, but for her friend.

Althea's happiness touched her.

It seemed greater than her situation warranted.

Helen could not see the situation as rapturous.
