It is written: "Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." In vain would an active mind have been bestowed on man were he not to make use of it in his undertakings.

Long deliberation must precede prompt execution.

It is not by a woman's desires or supplications that God's help is obtained.

A prosperous issue is the fruit of action and of counsel.
But the inspiration of God must not be rejected.

Wherefore the will of the Maid must be accomplished, even should that will appear doubtful and mistaken.
