Rose knew all about it, and took his lordship in tow immediately.

All the witcheries known to pretty little flirts were brought to bear on the viscount, as once before they had been brought to bear on Sir Ronald Keith.
Kate smiled across at Reginald, and surrendered the peer at once.

King or Kaiser were less than nothing to her in comparison with that handsome idol on the other side of the table.
Dinner was over, and the ladies gone.

In the drawing-room Kate seated herself at the piano, to sing a bewildering duet with Rose.
