That was a very good beginning, I felt sure, but I must speak louder.
Lately my voice had been poor in school--gave out, sometimes, in the middle of a recitation.

The back of the bald head that I had addressed revolved and presented its complement, a bald front. "Will you--would you like--I'd like--" I stared in dismay at the bald gentleman, unable to recall a word of what I meant to say; and he stared in impatience at me. "Well, well!" he snapped, "What is it? What is it ?" That reminded me. "It's the 'Boston Searchlight,' sir.
