10/31 Who is it? 'I didn't hear his name. He's a poor devil who's out here as a correspondent to some paper--I forget which--he's only been out a short time. He's dying of dysentery--quite alone, near our quarters. I'm Montagu of the 25th Hussars--Captain Montagu, and our doctor, who's looking after him, sent in for me, knowing I'd been at Ryeburn, as the poor fellow said something about it. |
