"Sire," said the cook, "the reason is, that every quarter of an hour I put a fresh chicken down to roast, so that your Majesty is sure always to have it at perfection." Talent in this age is no match for tact.

We see its failure everywhere.

Tact will manipulate one talent so as to get more out of it in a lifetime than ten talents will accomplish without it.

"Talent lies abed till noon; tact is up at six." Talent is power, tact is skill.

Talent knows what to do, tact knows how to do it.
"Talent is something, but tact is everything.
