They remained only a week in custody.

On Friday the fifteenth of June, the first day of term, they were brought before the King's Bench.

An immense throng awaited their coming.

From the landingplace to the Court of Requests they passed through a lane of spectators who blessed and applauded them.

"Friends," said the prisoners as they passed, "honour the King; and remember us in your prayers." These humble and pious expressions moved the hearers, even to tears.
