"In Bedfordshire ?" "With Lady Pensil, the sister of Mr.Bantling, who has answered for an invitation." Ralph was feeling anxious, but at this he broke into a laugh.

Suddenly, none the less, his gravity returned.

"Bantling's a man of courage.
